i love it when the deftones play guitars with multiple strings and scream through a washing machine very classic

"I'm one of the people who thought Ohms slapped by itself, and then ended up being the only good song on the album, lmao"

lmao righteous. remember when people splurged everywhere over Genesis: The Single? wtf was that about?

I thought people were lazy af these days and suffered from ‘inconsequential decision- making’ based anxieties. If I play a 3.5 min single, then I need to pick something else to play almost immediately, screw that!

Might be a joke. Maybe.

Not putting words in your mouth but I think, to argue you against the idea of listening to albums from beginning to end as a norm, people need to construct their own ways of listening to albums in a way that suits them. Sure some albums are meant to be listened to as a whole but that doesn't mean there's always going to be an easy entry point. I tried that with Crimson and Somewhere along the highway and found I could only latch onto certain parts of it before I went back and listened to it in pieces until I put everything together in my head.

"people need to construct their own ways of listening to albums in a way that suits them"

It's not like I disagree. Kid A sounds better as an album, for instance. But if the National Anthem pops up on my mega-playlist, I'm not gonna die. I'll jam!

I love making playlists. You can make your own "context" for songs you like.
