it can't be literally a b-sides album if the songs were never released as b-sides to singles ...

Aside from that everyone's got their own opinion on which set of songs is better. It does seem, however, that they put top priority on making Kid A flow as an album. That doesn't mean they thought the Amnesiac songs were worse, some might just have not fit. Amnesiac songs seem more all over the place in general.

Where does this idea that B-sides must be worse come from anyway? A lot of B-sides are a lot better than A-sides.

And the term itself is outdated. Don't go all semantics on me to try and side with Arse.

"Lucky" was recorded during The Bends sessions, yet isn't on The Bends.

Does that make it a b-side?

i love this album, but if the release order was reversed then i don't think the "B-Sides" comment would be said of Kid A

like it is for this. Kid A is way more stylistically divergent and grander in scale than most songs on here, this album kind of

trends towards a consistently homogenous vibe that Kid A touched on and also expanded on.

though just to reiterate, i really dig that aforementioned minimalist vibe.

i dunno about consistently homogenous. lots of variety I think. i thought that was part of the reason it copped the Kid B calls? would there be less of those if there wasn't another version of Morning Bells?

i think it's a great album in it's own right, taken from the same sessions but has it's own vibe. and Pyramid Song is still the most magic thing they've done imo

I don't think this would have had as big an impact as Kid A if it were released beforehand

I think they recycled some ideas from Cuttooth to create Bodysnatchers tbh
