I’ve still never listened to Nirvana as an album band but I’ve never found any of their songs I’ve heard all that appealing. :-/

Bleach is a pretty great album. Nevermind is a little too samey for my tastes but has great singles regardless. In utero has their best songs and a few of their worst.

The Pixies invented loud and quiet dynamics in music. Thank you pixies.

Crazy. I thought Brand New came up with that.

You could say Pixies were the first to use dynamics alongside changing tempos. But even then bands like The Gun Club were already doing that in the punk context. I don't think it is that significant a creation anyway. Kind of an insult to The Pixies when they are known for that for some reason.

Well Nirvana are universally considered to have released two of the best albums of all time so they’re def worth approaching as an album band.

When do you ever say to yourself 'oh boy I wanna listen some Nirvana :D'?

That's right, never.

Whereas this band, oh yeah all the time.

Rip the 4.5 avg

"When do you ever say to yourself 'oh boy I wanna listen some Nirvana :D'?"

I literally did the other day when I popped my In Utero CD into my car. Rape Me and Heart Shaped Box are also the worst songs on the album but it doesn't have so much to do for me with being overplayed so much as they just are the weakest written/performed songs on it

Those are themes on the album and he looked forward to playing it.

It's not THAT edgy.

Wow I thoroughly enjoy an album, I can’t look forward to listening to it? I’m driving not sitting down in my room looking at the lyric sheet and earbuds in listening to every single note/guitar screech. I’ve driven a lot to Manic Street Preachers’ The Holy Bible too and the lyrics are far more harrowing than that on In Utero. Sometimes I’ll even pop in None So Vile or Live in Leipzig can I also not listen to death or black metal when I drive cos the music is also fucked up?
