At that time, thrash "ballads" were only being pumped out by Metallica and a few others (on rare occasion) so they were relatively new for their time. The Call of Ktulu is undoubtedly beautiful and a perfect closer for a perfect album.

Right. If I'm not wrong, Welcome Home (sanitarium) and Fade to Black were the first thrash ballads ever, but One takes it in another level (IMO).
The Call of Ktulu has to be one of the best instrumental songs of all time.
