I don't think this tries to sound progressive or revolutionary in anyway (as with their other stuff) people just called it that. It's pseudo-intellectual music for non-hip hop fans because non-hip hop fans latched onto this and acted like it was somehow profound and smart. Regardless, I do enjoy Death Grip's sound.
