Under the subway, waiting for the train to make noise

So I can blast a nigga and his boys - for what?

He pushed up on the block and made the dope sales drop

Like the crashin of dow jones stock

I had to connect to cross seals, to catch more mil's

Than ho-bitches got birth control pills

I'm in the park

My fave part in any hip hop song ever.

Gza's flow is so smooth and reserved, love how he goes in without ever having to raise his voice.

Overrated. This is not even the best Wu-tang solo debut. Only Built for Cuban Linx crushes this album.
Ghostface's debut and followup are also much better.

So what is good about this album?

Well no one can fault RZA is on the production here. Out of the three clan solo albums dropped in 1995,
I'd put this at number #2 for it's sound. The synth and dark beats give an eerie chilling atmosphere and
the samples are spectacular.

GZA's lyrical prowess and wordplay are excellent, no question. The lyrics are intelligent, clever, and
poetic, giving a gritty depiction of urban city living.

But at the other end of the spectrum...

GZA is the most boring Wu-tang member to listen to. His delivery is terrible. He has no energy, no
passion, and his flow sucks. All the other clan members are more engaging and outshine him.

There are a few classic tracks on here that are always worth a spin... Liquid Swords, 4th Chamber, Cold
World, Investigative Reports, and Shadowboxin'. The rest of the tracks are not so memorable, especially
the last two GZA solo tracks. Some good choruses could have saved some of these songs.

It's funny how B.I.B.L.E. is not a GZA song and does not fit in with the rest of the album, but it's
actually one of the better songs.

wouldn't say GZA has "no passion" just because you don't enjoy him. He's pretty much established himself as the best rapper in Wu-Tang according to Wu-Tang members and (most) fans alike. he just has an old school style that is intentionally simple/low energy so that its smoother, this is needed to give the complex lyrics any chance to be understood.
