Honestly I don’t know if I’d prefer it with different production it was just something I noticed about Artificial Bouquet. Legit probably my favorite sounding bass on a record ever. It’s so fuckin THICK

I love the production here

The songs are so good tho that it would take a very terrible mix to ruin it for me

I wish this had more cleans man. Love almost everything about it, but the vocals get stale to me. Absolutely adore Palo Santo and No Gospel though. Classics.

yeah it's legitimately one of the best albums of the century

nearly unparalleled flow and composition mixed with amazing production

one of those albums that feels wrong to put on shuffle, like it's a disservice to the writing process

I think some discussed the production a few pages back but i wouldnt change a thing on this. It sounds exactly how it should. Both the songs and how they are put in order are just perfect. Already one of my all time favorite albums

It’s the record of the decade for me at least. Century? It’s got some composition from my personal taste. But decade? Absolutely.

If I really sit down and have a think, I’d say it’s fifth or sixth best for me. Strong in top 6, it drops off a bit after that for me. Those 6 records are all fucking peak (for me personally obv), this one far and away has the best average of those all tho lol

we might have one or two in common :P

6. State Faults - Children of the Moon

5. Chelsea Wolfe - She Reaches Out…

4. Static Dress - Rouge Carpet Disaster

3. Every Time I Die - Radical

2. Avenged Sevenfold - Life is But a Dream…

1. Foxing - Foxing

Honestly, gun to my head I’m taking the Chelsea Wolfe record over this, so these guys just barely miss out on my personal top 5, but I’d feel bad not including them because like I said these 6 are just so far ahead of what would round out my top 10 list. They’re in a tier of their own.

The new Tropical Fuck Storm, RTJ4, Little Simz, and the King Woman album come closest but I’d still say I like 1-6 a decent chunk more, I haven’t really thought about how I’d order these.

Edit: ehh screw it, it’s late and I’m bored.

10. King Woman - Celestial Blues

9. Little Simz - Sometimes I Might Be Introvert

8. Run the Jewels - RTJ4

7. Tropical Fuck Storm - Fairyland Codex

6. State Faults - Children of the Moon

5. Chelsea Wolfe - She Reaches Out…

4. Static Dress - Rouge Carpet Disaster

3. Every Time I Die - Radical

2. Avenged Sevenfold - Life is But a Dream…

1. Foxing - Foxing

I think that’s it… I could very easily see another 4 years of records shaking up 10-3, maybe 2, but I think how I feel about the Foxing self titled is how pretty much everyone feels about this lol, record is goated imo and I’m honestly not sure I’ll love another album as much as that one. And I guess by default that makes Fairyland Codex my aoty this year, it’s the only 2025 album on there. Honestly checks out, this has been a pretty killer year but that record has really dug its way into my brain. Gareth Liddiard is seriously such an insanely talented songwriter.
