If I remember correctly, the T/T was recorded in one take. The band gathered in the studio and the whole process was finished in less than 20 minutes. Paranoid's solo was originally written as a solo section of War Pigs but Iommi decided to use it for the T/T.

@junkie: this is the comment I found weird. Taken from that Sad Wings thread:
"Anyway, I wonder how many drugs these guys had in their blood when they did this."
It wasn't drugs man, it just that at the point Maiden recorded Seventh Son, they had unlocked the dead-ends of their creativity.
