Hate to admit how much this album has grown on me over the last year. Always liked In Blur and Great Mass of Color but now it has started to click with me lol. Im probably insane yeah

It' grown hard on me too. Very nice atmosphere and quite a couple of great tracks here.

Album is very moody and I can have it as background noise all time at this point.

'the album before this was tailor made for pleb users like winesbullshit who have literal shit taste'

Staff ratings are pretty middling for this. Sow / Dew both have it 4d but that's basically the equivalent of a 2 in their bizarre world.

Sunnyvale likes this also.

I can't see a Wines rating.

This is a great contrast to the rest of their discog too. Hoping with the next one we get this blended with more of their older sound

I'm trying to force myself to like it but I just don't. I think the problem is great mass and in blur are so exceptionally good that the rest of the album just falls flat after them.

"This is a great contrast to the rest of their discog too. Hoping with the next one we get this blended with more of their older sound" (2) Agree 100% with this

Those two are the best tracks here for sure, Keaton. I have also grown to like Shellstar, Lament for Wasps and Mombasa

"This album shits on their last one."

OCHL was amazing as expected, this one just sounds like a different band, a bland one

The variety this added was so needed and has made their live shows 10x better imo. Look at the set I just saw them play in Chicago, it was incredible and had such awesome pacing:

Shellstar

In Blur

Great Mass of Color

-

Honeycomb

From the Kettle Onto the Coil

Worthless Animal

-

The Gnashing

Mombasa

-

Brought to the Water

Dream House

Neptune Raining Diamonds, Gnashing, and Other Language are the only weakspots for me. Shellster, Lament for Wasps, and Villian could use more love.

I have enough faith in these guys for whatever direction they choose to go in next. No two albums of theirs are the same, which is impressive given the black metal realm they've been in for so long.

That set list actually seems sick! Hope the concert was sick as well, Feather!

Should have seen these guys and Holy Fawn when I had the chance but I didn't want to take out a loan for gas to make it to Chicago.

@Jay bummer, we would have been at the same show

@Lasssie it was incredible. I actually caught their Furnace Fest show last year and it was their 10 year anniversary set that had nothing from their last two albums on it and the whole set ended up just meshing together and being a sort of blur. This set was infinitely (lol) more balanced and interesting.
