I thought that vid was a meme wtf. It's legit real lol. They used Burzum as a DSBM, they had better choices like Shining or Lifelover but I guess Burzum was the best choice commercially wise.

Idk about that. The very few black metal loving chicks I've come across weren't ugly at all. They had rough emotional backgrounds though, which makes me wonder if there is any mentally sane/untraumatized person who loves black metal with a passion. It's definitely great as a therapeutic way to deal with negative emotions/trauma in my personal experience.

I think black metal is the most accessible of the extreme metal genres. Like this album is borderline pleasant to listen to

I think if you have a trained ear in metal, sure. But this is not borderline pleasant to anyone who hasn't been exposed to much metal. BM is so diverse that I can't necessarily declare that it is the most accessible although certain genres of BM definitely benefit from being folk-based or symphonic or another element that softens the edges of black metal.

Yeah I agree, just the chord progressions are so smooth and consonant in this. And idk there’s something very fun and lighthearted about bm even though it definitely scratches the existential itch
