Looks like I'm basically gonna be the only one giving the new Linkin Park a high rating if it's consistently the same quality as the singles.

I couldn't care less that Linkin Park are getting turned into a pop act, but Heavy and Battle Symphony are horribly written songs. Like I said earlier, Jon Green should feel ashamed about Battle Symphony because the chorus of that song sounds straight up broken.

Yeah, I have nothing against pop and I think these guys have even done it well in the past. But these new songs are just horrible. The lyrics are so awkward and random and the music is completely unmemorable.
I think the label will probably come to their senses after this album completely flops, though.

Or they'll think the bands a lost cause and drop them completely lmao
|

maybe chester will get a solo career as a pop/rnb artist and shinoda will revive fort minor and the rest of the band will piss off
anything is possible in trump's america

So I'm finally listening to this for the first time... I originally skipped it because LT was so bad, but curiosity has gotten the better of me finally. My first impression is that it's extremely weird hearing this band playing actual instruments again. It feels like it's been a really long time.

this bands always been playing real instruments my dude.

Jesus, watching these dudes talk about how the new record is the most amazing thing they've ever recorded and that Chester even cried while recording it, is the biggest laughing stock I've had the fortune of watching. My brain can't comprehend, if they have absolutely 0 self-awareness to see how shit the new album is, or if they are just really trying to sell it. Don't know which is sadder to be honest.
Problem is, this is gonna sell and we're gonna have this kind of garbage output for years to come.

Well, on the plus side there's much better music out this year already. Time for Mastodon and Gorillaz new records again.

im struggling thinking of albums i hate more than one more light

| |
Album Rating: 3.0
there are more offensively bad albums yeah but the inoffensive nature of one more light is part of what repulses me so much about it. its maybe the dullest and safest album ive ever heard, and while linkin park was always sanitized, at least they used to have some slight degree of edge

Third track on One More Light is like an ugly combination of a Nickelback song and a slightly competent Chainsmokers song
