"cold that's too hot a take for you"
Yeah, try this on for size: lots of bands at the time Paramore became a success were already making music JUST like that but don't get nearly the recognition Paramore did. But then you had boys who couldn't keep from masturbating 5 times a day clamouring and foaming at the mouth over Hayley and how "hot" she was and how much they wanted to "fuck" her, and complaining why all their lady friends "friendzoned" them. Then all the Christian school girls who thought they'd be "edgy" by listening to this band and rebelling against their parents, all the while trying everything in their power to look and be just like her because they never had an identity of their own because they were so fucking boring and vanilla. On thhe first 2 Paramore albums, the music took a backseat to the image, and that image being Hayley. I'll give BNE a pass because you could sense that they felt the same way and were trying to come into their own with their music. Then they finally achieved that with this album only to be spit in the face by all those so-called "fans" who seemed to not even try to pay attention to the music. Admittingly, they vastly improved on it with "After Laughter", and I really love that album, but I'm only attributing the success to that album to the "Lets go back to the 80's and 90's!" trend.
So, how's that for a hot take?
