The acoustic interludes before that are beautiful.

Yeah One is a beautiful song in parts. The production doesn't ruin this at all for me, but yeah a little bit of bass would be nice.

I could see a song like Shortest Straw becoming top 3 'tallica with bass tbh.

If this album were properly mixed it would be easily the best Metallica tbh

"If this album were properly mixed it would be easily the best Metallica tbh"
Possibly, but I feel RTL is home to their most legendary riffs ever, and riffs are important in thrash metal.

Because your all so keen to hear my life story - One was the first difficult song I learnt on guitar, it took me quite a few months coz I was only 12 but eventually my friend and I recorded a video of us playing the entire thing with dual guitar. Sadly ive lost the tape and even sadder Is that after only playing acoustic for like 2yrs I cant even play that sweet solo anymore.
Does anyone know of a genuinely good remix of this album with audible bass but not ridiculously boosted like I've come across before?

"Gotta be honest, as generic as it is, One is probably my favorite metallica song."
I don't think it sounded generic at the time it was released. But yeah, it's up there with The Call of Ktulu and a couple other songs as my favorite too.
