This album is a solid 3.5. As has been stated, there were musically better albums that came out around the same time with similar purpose, and those have held up far better (both in the punk genre, like Bad Religion's 'The Empire Strikes First', and out of it, like Radiohead's 'Hail To The Thief')...but none of them made an impact like this album did. And not that this says much, but it's in the better half of Green Day's catalogue, and also the last time I ever believed that they cared about what they were putting out.
Not the best album, but a good damn album none the less. The first four songs and "Letterbomb" still slap.
