There's no specific reasoning as to why they block song XY. Mostly it has to do with some hackeneyed IP/copryight law shenanigans. Often you can circumvent this with firefox addons but apparently they found new ways to block that stuff so even proxies and firefox addons don't really work for some videos (mostly newer ones). I just think it's a disservice to the public and the musicians, I'm sure Lous Armstrong (if he were still alive) and Grimes among many others wouldn't mind having people here exposed to their music.
There was even a case before our Supreme Court, but I think that went nowhere.
