guess i gotta check the remastered one, apparently haughm was really unhappy with the production of this

it's weird to me that mantle has a higher average and more votes. this is clearly superior and i thought it was held in higher regard than mantle. pale folklore is better than mantle. the rest of their albums basically suck

the mantle is the worst out of their 'big 4' if u will, ie: the first 4 albums
the production on it is so flat and lifeless. never understood why this site holds it in such high regard

yea marrow is my second favorite. production on that one sucks too, but intentionally so I suspect. it's that good bad bm production lol

This has always been my favorite Agalloch. Just getting into Marrow which I would probably put right behind this one. Mantle is right there too but in no way clearly superior to either this or Marrow.

For me, it depends on my mood. Sometimes, this seems to supersede The Mantle for my favorite, but other days, The Mantle is the undisputed champ. Overall, I like The Mantle better, but I think this is an overall better album based on its songwriting.
