I think Nickelback's lyrics are just plain shit. I see no indication there is any attempt to create art, just simple hooks to appeal to the vast majority of people who don't look for anything deeper in music. I think Drew's lyrics are far worse than this because:
[his] lyrics are an insidious attempt to create something that appears to be artistic, poetic and comparable with classical literature
And if you look at that last comment you quoted you'll see that I point out I could write a good argument backing up these claims/beliefs. To do that with any completeness, though, I'd need a little time and a higher word count than would be appropriate in a thread. I've got the time if you're prepared to wait. And I talked about subjectivity because you asked me to 'prove' my points, which I think is impossible.

MJ had been belligerent since last night when Chan posted his history blog. This whole thing with Iluvatar was just the final event in a series of events. MJ can't deal with certain things and Iluvatar knows how to push his buttons and get him worked up - and it worked. Also, it's not like MJ didn't get a ton of warning. He had his posts deleted and he reposted them without the childish bullshit (proving that he knew what the issue was), but he couldn't contain it for very long. This whole conspiracy that he has convinced you of is bullshit. As for the EC thing, I don't doubt that he posted it but if everyone was banned for a single outburst then the site would be empty.

K. Never been to England, so maybe the word isnt as bad there. In the US, the word Cunt is about as polarizing as it gets. Women consider it to be the worst word in the entire language. If you went up to another dude and said that to him with the intent to insult, there about a 75% chance you would have a fight on your hands, 99% if the guy has any balls whatsoever. Call a guy fat to insult, and that probably goes down to 50%, if not less.
Anyway, thats all I have to say about it.
