@Ferinus: This is their best imo followed by Morningrise and Orchid.

First 3 > the rest imo.

JT kisses men. I know this cos he doesn't dig Still Life hard.

Jamie I'll argue that Still Life is a bit better. I like flows as a concept album better than this one does. Keyblade isn't going to make any enemies saying First 5 are all the best.
How I personally rate the albums are like this:
Morningrise > Still Life > MAYH + Deliverance + BWP > Orchid + Ghost Reveries > Watershed > Heritage > Damanation.

@Buttery: Hahaha. Sorry bro, Still Life doesn't do much for me, as with most mid-era Opeth.

Favourite song from mid-era Opeth JT, GO!

Wow couldn't disagree more. This is a much more effective and cohesive concept album imo. Still Life feels much more drawn out and doesn't have such a strong atmosphere as this.

Deliverance has sentimental value (as opposed to my previous statement of it having sedimental value). The loss of family around the time listening and the fact it was the first full length album I bought by them. That is why it is higher than most consider it on my list.

Hmm, tough one. Probably Godhead's Lament. I like A Fair Judgement quite a lot too (the only song from Deliverance I really like).

Ah nice choices.

Dude, title track? Masters Apprentices?
A Fair Judgement is awesome too. Wish the other 3 songs were half as good.

Really not a fan of any of the heavier songs on Deliverance. Especially not Wreath :D

I love it hard, brings DM hard.
Masters Apprentices and the t/t rule also.

Brings the boring DM hard, agreed.

So basically everything but By The Pain I See In Others rules hard. Leb, I'm with you on Wreath bringing the DM. Opeth can kick teeth in when they want to.
The title track is intense live, and I hope every show I see has it.
