Well tempest-- murdered the conversation with his "joke."

But since we're close to cracking 100 pages might I restart it by saying Bill Ward is an awesome and often under appreciated drummer?

Agreed, and this album is arguably his best performance

Prefer Bonzo personally, but yeah, Ward's playing was crucial to the Sabbath sound.

Probably one of the first 3. His drumming rules on Sabotage too

In all seriousness:

Ward is good, but he's been underappreciated because:

1. Tony and Geezer treated him like shit for most of his time in the band.

2. Sabbath's riffs are the main focus of the music, so of course people are gonna focus more on Iommi's performance.

I mean I prefer Bonzo too, but Ward is still really entertaining as a drummer.

I couldn't choose a best album for him since he's almost always spot on. "Rat Salad" has

superb drums.

Iommi's performance."

Geezer's bass got a lot of attention too. More so on their first 3 albums though...

Yeah I remember the stories about him being set on fire, and painted gold. He definitely does get overshadowed musically by Tony and Geezer.

My impression is that his playing often sounds as if following the lead of Iommi's riffs, as opposed to being a protagonist in the music. He does make himself felt though, and songs like War Pigs wouldn't be the same without him.

And yeah, Rat Salad is another fine performance.

He almost died during the gold paint incident.

Brad Wilk rules, so I'm still pumped to listen to 13 when I get to it.
