I love this album but it's hard for me to listen to due to some personal shit. A great friend of mine was hit by a car and killed when I was a sophomore in college and it was the first time a someone part of my friend group. He and I used to listen to the hell out of this album when we were in the same 5th grade class and we were obsessed with it. I was in shock from his sudden death and I walked around downtown while listening to this to try clearing my head to try coming to grips with what happened.

That was almost a decade ago now but I've probably only listened to this 2 or 3 times since then. It weighs pretty heavily on me so as much as I love this album and think it's their best, I never return to it these days since I link it to how I felt when he passed away and all of our old childhood memories.

^Agree with Slex here but personally, Dude Ranch beats it for its perfect blend of catchy hooks and raw agression. It's one album I have never grown even remotely tired of since first hearing it 17 years ago.

I would also say that even thought the subject matter on Dude Ranch is far from mature, it's honest and probably more mature than the lyrical content of TOYPAJ relative to Tom and Mark's ages at the time of each albums release.

even aside from all the "this is way more mature and arty" stuff that sorta goes without saying at this point, i also think this has their sharpest hook game

I'd take this over their other albums. The run of Feeling This through Stockholm Syndrome, which I think is the best song, is undefeated.
