first track starting with 3 minutes of nothing but meandering chugging made me think the album was a piss take self parody but the rest is decent enough

kaleidoscope actually sorta riffs

good job guys

Broken Cog is awesome but i will admit, when the riff finally drops its kind of not that great, like it could have been a nastier riff honestly.

Broken Cog was dope live, but yeah it's not as powerful as it could be as an album opening experience

Finally some people not riding the broken cog train as if it’s the only good song on the album

Worst meshuggah other than the debut

What shug album is weaker other than cc?Nothing, obzen, violent sleep, dei, chaosphere, all those are clearly Superior. I would also deff put koloss and catch 33 above this as well.

honestly now that this is like a year old i kinda agree... but mostly just cause the production is much weaker than their other albums imo

Their previous album had much better production but was also more monotonous. The kick on this album sounds so bad.

I've been on a Meshuggah kick lately so I came back to this album after being kinda meh about it last year. I definitely think it's better than Violent Sleep but it's too long and kinda drags ass after a while. God He Sees in Mirrors is absolutely gosh-tier though.

I love the album cover. Best thing about the album. My favorite track is unironically Past Tense. Hearkens back to In Death - Is Death really nicely. They Move Below is the other highlight for me

I feel like it's wrong that I love this album so much considering their discog. But IDGAF, I think this is their most cohesive album experience other than C33.

That is... utterly fascinating and I will never understand it or why, but it's interesting. Catch is like 10000 times more potent and hungry to me than this.

This along with the debut are the only 2 albums I'm just like "yeah this is cool" I don't love it tho. Literally every other record is one of my favorite albums of all time. I don't get the love on this one truthfully a sort of dull boring meshuggah album. A few good tracks like broken cog and phantoms but as a whole extremely underwhelming to me. When I compare this to nothing or obzen or whatever it's not even close imo
