Not yet. Gonna check right now.
Man, why Drugs or Me so low? It’s so close to being my favorite here, but 23 is just too good.

Are those b sides on Spotify somewhere? Or do I need to fuck with YouTube?
Listening to the Shame demo right now. Great song. Found When I Want in Spotify too. I’ll go to YouTube for the other two.

Yeah, most of them are on youtube, unfortunately. "Drugs or Me" is heartbreaking but musically it's also kind of a typical JEW ballad. It doesn't really stand out the same way 23, Night Drive, Invented, or Just Watch the Fireworks does.

It’s probably partly because it hits so close to home. Gets me in the feels, man. It and 23 are incredibly powerful for me.

Absolutely, man. I can imagine how hard it would hit for someone who can relate. I'm turning 23 next week so you know what I'm going to be playing haha

Shame is one of their best songs in my opinion. This band has some great b-sides.

I have definitely found that to be the case this far. The BA b sides were pretty great.

Futures has a lot of B-sides too, including:
Big Cars
Shame
When I Want
You
Jen
Over
Closer
Disintegration
Sparkle
Shame, Disintegration and Closer are the highlights (Shame is on the UK release of the album and the latter two are on Stay on My Side Tonight).
If you've only heard the demo of Shame, you should find the final version. The dark, slow, heavy drone -like feel of the song is so compelling to me, and quite unlike most of their catalogue.

You'll find when you get to Chase This Light too that the B-sides are generally better than most of the album tracks. Be Sensible and Open Bar Reception in particular. And don't forget to check out the acoustic version of Dizzy when you get round to it.

Hey, thanks brother. Keep them coming. I will definitely check out every song. As I continue to go through their discog (listened to Static Prevails and dropped my thoughts on that thread), I’d love to know which b sides to check out.
Kinda odd how they have so many b sides and how good they are? Like, why? Lol

Can't believe how poorly this was received upon release
This is obviously the worst example but most critic aggregate sites have this at low or middling averages

It was poorly received because everyone was hoping they'd release something in the vein of Clarity. Which they didn't.

I'm so glad they went in this direction. Berthed my favorite of all their styles - glowing, atmospheric, "night driving" Jimmy Eat World. This album, Integrity Blues, and to a lesser extent Invented are the main reason I'm such a staunch supporter of the band.

Clarity is their best by a landslide, agreed everyone

Anecdotally, I remember Futures being adored by fans when it came out. Maybe some reviews weren't great but the community around the band was relentlessly positive and flourishing in late 2004-2005.

Clarity is best, but this and Invented are next (Stay By My Side as well). Only spun IB twice but really liking it. Not on Clarity or Futures level so far though.

The b-sides from Futures are pretty good, and two of them (When I Want and Shame) should have been included instead of Kill and The World You Love, which are my least favorites here.

The lyrical skewering in that Pitchfork review makes me chuckle (and tbh, are they wrong on that?)
