Well, I goofed you guys. A decade ago is when I discovered DEP but they were a little frenetic/chaotic/amelodic for me. I liked Unretrofied and a handful of random tracks.

Option Paralysis came out and I decided I just wasn't a fan. I was sad when they broke up but didn't do any discog re-listen. I think I just remembered being entirely...whelmed by these guys and nothing more.

So I just started listening to this album for the very first time. I'm halfway through. I love it. So much. So far. How did I ignore this for so long?!

For me it's Ire Works.

Option > Ire Works > Calculating > Miss Machine > Dissociation > OOUITK

That being said, the lowest here is still like a 3.5-4 anyway

Hot take incoming: Option Paralysis is about 40% forgettable for me and I don't understand why it was touted as such a big improvement over Ire Works

Which bits are forgettable for you? Ire Works is their most eclectic work, so I can see how you'd find that one's cuts more individually memorable

Yeah, I really dig the experimentation on Ire Works, makes for a more engaging listen. I don't really get much out of Crystal Morning, Endless Endings, Room Full of Eyes, or I Wouldn't If You Didn't on OP. They just feel like polished retreads to me

Fuck man I get the rest but the pianos in I Wouldn’t If You Didn’t are so batshit they make the song.

It's pretty obvious what my favourite Dillinger release is, but this is pretty close.
