that doesn't really change my point though. plus if you listen to an album one time you can then listen to individual songs later and have an appreciation for their place within the context of the album without actually listening to the whole album, like the opener on this for example

my point was that context can have a defining effect on enjoyment of music, and that certain musical ideas can certainly 100% be lost in translation when listening to the music through a secondary source (youtube) compared to the primary source (the game itself, the music as god intended it to be heard)

yeah that's definitely more true for video games where the music changes in specific situations but there are tons of other soundtracks that stand on their own, and also if I don't like the core musical ideas of a soundtrack then I doubt I'm gonna appreciate it much more after hearing numerous variations of it
|
| |
this isn't trying to be one of those soundtracks, that's not the point

yeah why would an idm/shoegaze band try to be like a video game soundtrack

but actually though, kinda weird that he took the time to make the account, download my profile pic and avatar pic, format them to the right size, upload them and then copy 79 of my ratings, and then seemingly just logged off. Might as well leave some comments and pretend to be me or something but nah he just made the account and dipped lol

posted in the march madness thread iirc but yeah, weird weird scenes.
don't you worry though, i'll pin down a real motive in no time
|
| |
the motive is clear, he wanted to troll colton, got started, quickly had an existential crisis doubting his purpose in life, and stopped. the end.

hold that tiger.

‘they can, but the question is whether the effect of listening to a song within the context of the album it's from enhances it enough to compensate for the fact that I'll probably be bored of almost any album after like 25 minutes which is why I never really listen to full albums. I mean who actually does in 2021’
Is this copypasta? My poor eyes. Bloody hell Colton, this has to be up there with the worst takes I’ve ever seen on this website. All your opinions are now essentially redundant. This will be used against you, just saying. Sorry it’s come to this.
