I can assure you that they still put on a show and sound good live. Definitely worth seeing

They're good live but i'd only seem them once. First time was amazing second time was a bit boring

Every time I've seen them I was surrounded by middle-aged men in leather vests, trying not to drop their draft beer.
Not super inspiring.

The album that revolutionized metal forever.

Sometimes I think One is their best song, but then I hear Sanitarium and I'm like...“Well shit. Maybe its not.”

"The album that revolutionized metal forever."
Previous two did that. This is just more of the same.

Think I prefer every song on this album to 'One' - 'One' is cool but almost too cheesy (yes, even for 'Tallica')
Now 'Blackened'...that definitely offers the songs on this album some real competition

This is a genius refinement that also possesses the best atmosphere Metallica ever conjured on an album, plus it has a certain rawness too.

Ride the Lightning is significantly better

What rawness? This is way too slick and lacks balls. RTL was the perfect refinement of Kill 'Em All which was already awesome.

yeah pretty much.

Yeah that's pretty spot on. To me, each one of their first 5 albums is almost perfect at what it wants to achieve and has its charm. Want balls out thrash? Kill 'em All. A blistering thrash record with a slight sophistication? Ride the Lightning. A mature metal album that thrashes? MOP. A socioeconomic fuck you with prog tendencies? AJFA. A commercial approach to metal that doesn't suck? Black Album.
