Do something unique again cmon man.
It's not going to happen. The guy they wrote the single with and some other songs on the album also wrote the last Maroon 5 single.

Man, your ranking baffles me.

I've never cared about this band so this new direction doesn't outrage me, but man are those new songs embarrassing.

New songs are basically Living Things 2.0 but more streamlined and poppy, I'm totally okay with it.

I've enjoyed just about everything this band has put out so far, but those new singles are just atrocious.

Yea at least LT had some cool enjoyable songs. Based on the singles I can't see the new one being anything beyond a 2.

The only LP songs I listen to anymore are off Hybrid Theory but I remember this was pretty decent. New singles are wack af though.

Jon Green should feel ashamed for his writing on Battle Symphony, its one of the worst produced pop songs I've heard in a long time.

Why do they even need external writers?
|
| |
It's because The Hunting Party was a commercial flop. It got no certifications in the United States and its worldwide sales couldn't even cap one million. A far cry from LIVING THINGS which was Gold in the US and sold over a million world wide. Not to mention their brief dubstep escapade with Recharged, which did even worse despite having a big name line-up for remixers and having so much money put into advertising + music videos and stuff.
Warner Brothers, from my knowledge, is a pretty controlling/corporate record label for pop musicians. They've left Linkin Park alone since their debut because Hybrid Theory was an unprecedented success and all their other albums did well enough that they were confident that Linkin Park could do whatever they want and get results. But because Hunting Party flopped, they're gonna take Linkin Park by the hand and guide them through their rebranding into a bland pop act. So now they have unnecessary features and external writers who have written for everyone from Selena Gomez to Lady Gaga to Kelly Clarkson because so far, it has shown better results.
