@ALA Thrash isn't an easy genre to digest for everyone. For those who aren't really used to it, they may be appalled by the often "lack" of melody, trashy sound production (not all but many), repetitive song structures, "overheaviness" compared to most genres, and often unskilled vocals, but when you pick the right places to start, it becomes easier to like, and eventually, you may even like it more than your "introductory" albums/bands. As far as extreme metal is concerned, thrash is quite accessible, and you'll be headbanging in no time if you find yourself liking it more.

As far as your introduction, it's good you are familiar with the big four because they're arguable the best way gateway of the genre thus proving why they are often hailed and valued in the community. That and they are fucking good.

A 4 is a good rating for Reign In Blood imo because the album isn't melodic at all and is repetitive, but again, when you're used to that kind of thing, it doesn't bother you much. I like my thrash either very melodic or very dirty, and RIB happens to be very dirty.

yeah i really don't think reign in blood is hard to listen to at all though, particularly because the production is crystal fuckin clear

I think RIB is the best at what it does compared to the rest of their catalog even if it's not their best album.

Rust in Peace is the greatest thing that has ever been created. It's the best music that has ever been made since the wind whistled through Gandhi's hair.

That may be true, but few albums pump out motherfucking anthems like Exodus's Bonded By Blood.

If you ignore the production, this is pretty much perfect.
