I've listened to this quite a few times and I don't see how this album compares to Crimson King at all

"I don't see how this album compares to Crimson King"
Crimson King is the band trying to find their own identity, and most of the songs tend to drag a bit imo.
Red feels more like a coherent whole done by experienced veterans.

Crimson King is a bit scattershot stylistically but the writing is perfect imo outside of the end of Moonchild going on a couple minutes too long.
Wish I could explain how I feel about this album a bit better but really I guess it's just preference really. I don't really dig the first and fourth tracks at all tbh
One More Red Nightmare's pretty good too though, as is Fallen Angel.

Don't get Jamie started on Moonchild

Moonchild is fine

Moonchild is hit or miss, I like it for what it is despite its flaws. Providence is the better "improv track before the big damn finale" track though.
Also, holy shit JT finally shares an opinion with me oh boyyyy

This and In the Court are too different to compare. I do prefer the more rocking sound of this though.
