foos are foos. Their a band like everyone else bar about 3% who don't define a generation but actually change it.

Trying to contextualise it to anyone under the age of 25 is impossible.

I find Foo Fighters generally boring, to be honest. Decent to great singles, but it's a chore to listen to an album of theirs in full.

I enjoy the Foo Fighters, but they really don't do/haven't done anything groundbreaking.

When Nirvana became extremely popular, I was very young (single digits), and didn't really listen to music. Listening to them now, or as I got older, I found some of the stuff enjoyable, but didn't really find it revolutionary. I still don't.

But maybe because I didn't grow up with it, it's just not as big a deal to me. It's okay music, nowhere near my favorite.

With revolution it's often not what you're saying but how you're saying it. In terms of technical ability/songwriting were Nirvana the most groundbreaking musicians ever? No. In terms of finding a unique, perfectly timed and instinctively delivered voice yes they were revolutionary

Asdfp - Looking at your taste you like your cerebral stuff best - no primal gut stuff at the top there so probably explains it. When Cobain screams it hurts, Grohl is a happy go lucky type a guy who likes to rawk.

One dude simply HAD to make music, the other likes to rock a bit, massive difference.

Nothing wrong with preferring foos but that's the difference

Yeah, I guess that's it, idk I just don't connect with this, I feel it's kinda aimless with its anger

Doof I don't disagree that these guys captured the heart of a generation, or whatever. I still don't understand what that has to do with "taking on the entire planet" and what such a vague affirmation of skill was even supposed to mean
