Nah. We forgave them for this, because we thought it was ok they got their prog urges out with a side album.

Little did we know how they would abuse that trust.

I've heard so much about opeth I've automatically thought I won't like them and left them as the only "progmetal giant" (okey, maybe except tool, even tho I knew their few tracks they probably count) that I've never played. Few songs came in just as I was playing some Leprous at my friends laptop from youtube.

I'm so checking them out soon, starting this album. What I've heard so far was truly amazing

Leprous are amazing, but Opeth are a different beast. There is a lot material to listen to, there should be something you enjoy

OOOOH DDD! Do it!

They sure won't disappoint man! Ghost Reveries would be a good place to start I'd say. Or Blackwater Park (that was my first one).

Ok ...I practically know these fellas since ever. I hope and kinda know ahead that they are better than Soen, Katatonia, Leprous, Swallow The Sun etc...its this kind of competition right? lol

Its really stupid of me to avoid the main quest for so long yk? (single player gamer's issue ahahah)

Hahaha! No man, I totally understand. It's a daunting task.

I hope I don't raise your expectations through the roof and thus disappoint you, but they're definitely in a league of their own. There's none like them. Sounds extremely silly and stupid, but it's the truth.

That being said, they have released some sub-par records, especially recently. But the older ones (for me everything up to and including Heritage) are all totally worth the hype.

(Except for me this has been dropping down the ranks, practically everybody else loves it though!)

EDIT: TLDR - What Pleb said basically.
