People I know talk shit on avenged sevenfold all the time but none of them have ever actually listened to a full album of theirs. Like I know they can venture into butt rock territory from time to time but people that hate on avenged seem like they’ve never actually heard any deep cuts let alone listened to a full album by the band. It’s like they’ve heard Welcome to the Family (even tho I love this song) or Hail to the King and decided that’s all there is to this band.



I turned on some less known songs off Waking the Fallen and my buddy couldn’t believe it was the same band. They’ve got some misses for sure but they’re so much more than what their singles would lead you to believe.

Idk, they were my favorite band when I was young, kind of moved past them, but then again, they take way more risks than every other mainstream metal band. While metallica and others are putting out the same bullshit over and over again these boys literally don’t have a single album that sounds close to the other.



It’s just really refreshing to see a band of their status to say fuck all this bullshit were doing what we want

Jon told me the first song was a bad indicator of the rest of the album (it sounded like system of a down trying to do a thrash song with max poser energy) and made me listen to (O)rdinary and that one was at least entertaining in its awfulness
