The tracks they played live from this album were good fun, and the setlist was organized in a way that flowed nicely between this and their heavier stuff. I'm happy that this album only took up half of their setlist.

I certainly very much like their previous material, but I like this one for an entirely different reason. It's very easy listening, I'm able to easily spam this album (being able to listen to it while family members are around is also a big plus). The first half is the better half but the second half is definitely not as 'boring' as some of you are saying.

Any shoegaze albums that sound similar to this? It seems like most shoegaze is more dream pop, less heavy. I'm pretty new to the genre.

Nope, theres nothing else like this in the genre. Nothing with these type of timbres that really beaf up the low end to this degree. Most of it is dream pop stuff as you said, this is the only shoegaze album I can get into.

in blur is literally the most generic shoegaze song, any shoegaze band sounds like that on avg

still very much like this tho, kerry was always better at gaze-oriented writing than metal

In Blur and Great mass are such good songs. It's a shame the rest of the album is so bland.

"nothing else like this in the genre" did we just somehow forget about the band that did exactly this 7 years earlier?

alcest's vox were better but i would probably say this is less uninteresting than Shelter.
