I really hope this is true for me, taking my sweet time with the genre (heard about 6 bands total) even though it's virtually all been positive thus far. Part of this is due to time/situation constraints mind.

I feel like you really have to be in the mood for it, but when you are it's just the greatest.

don't get why this is their higest ranked album. it is rather slow and long/boring.

Do you even post-metal? Nah, this is nicely balanced. If you want less ambiance & more crushing riffs then try The Beyond.

I'm in the same boat tbh, it's a genre where I listen to maybe 1 new band every year

My haphazard approach to genres/subgenres is really slowing me down, love some post-metal but I also really need to immerse myself in it & listen to each release multiple times & most of the albums are 60 mins+

There's other stuff I can listen to on my commute or at work, whereas stuff like this is saved for dedicated home listening & due to other commitments the time for that is less numerous.

Not when your commute lasts 50 minutes (also, I'm sure we've had the discussion before about noise getting in, haha).

Yeah I simply can't abide not getting through the whole thing unless there are extenuating circumstances. I'm not against planned distractions (listening at work, or I listen while playing games sometimes) but I still exclusively listen to full albums.
