^ Yeah, this isn't a bad place to start either. Like Brother, Sister it has lots of different elements of their sound, so fairly representative (in some ways) as well as being high quality.

I think B,S is a little more emblematic of mewithoutYou's trademark sound and core philosophy, and in many ways still their most mature and balanced creation. I think traveling forward from it to Pale Horses and Untitled will make both these latter albums much more meaningful.
But, it's mewithoutYou, just start listening, can't really go wrong. Every record is quality.

Have you dug any deeper yet, Morningrise? If so, any other albums doing it for you?

me too. I always forget that just because I've loved them for 13 years and talk about them on this site doesn't mean that they're popular (they aren't).

everyone always recommends listening to the other albums and then “if you like those” listen to this and pale horses. I honestly can’t get into their other albums besides pale horses and this. so if you don’t like them don’t stay away from the latest two.

Man, I don't know how you can't get into their others. That's so strange to me. I know they are all a little different, but most of the core components for both this and Pale Horses were established way earlier in their discog and are ever present (with It's All Crazy! being an exception) throughout.

I agree, user ButtBoy
Re-reading that comment, I hope I don't sound like I'm shitting on you, robot. I just really am confounded by that lol.

i think it’s mainly the vocal delivery. if I listen more i’ll get used to it i’m sure, but I much prefer the more melodic delivery he has used more recently so it’s made going back harder. I mean maybe that was just my issue, I started with pale horses

I love most of the mwY discography, but I get what you're saying robot. His vocals have improved tenfold since the earlier records.

My favorite delivery is still B,S. Has all the variety I could want.

I honestly like his vocals most here, his singing voice has gotten better with each album and it's like he rediscovered how to scream on this one. Like, he screamed a bit on Pale Horses but nothing like this.
