you are making valid observations about the music lol, I'm just saying your perspective on what you are hearing may change for the better if you hear it in the game

but Galaxy OST remains the best soundtrack to anything ever

"I've never believed that certain pieces of music can't be evaluated properly when outside of certain contexts"
I bet I can find examples where you don't even think this. It's subconcious.

You don't think that the tracks that immediately precede and follow a song on an album can have an effect on how much you like it? Same idea.

they can, but the question is whether the effect of listening to a song within the context of the album it's from enhances it enough to compensate for the fact that I'll probably be bored of almost any album after like 25 minutes which is why I never really listen to full albums. I mean who actually does in 2021

I usually listen to half and then the other half a little later and then just individual tracks whenever I feel like it after that

"they can"
indeed

abbey road medley
I listen to each of those songs separately all the time, but listening to the medley in full is obviously ideal. There's no requirement to always listen to a song in the ideal way, but that doesn't mean there's not an ideal way.

I frequently just play She Came In Through the Bathroom Window

same, but you'd still agree that all the songs in a row elevates the experience, changes it, right?
|
| |
i feel like we are so close

changes it yes, elevates it not necessarily that's up to the listener to decide
|
| |
okay but there is a difference in quality solely based on context, yes?
a different perspective on the music
|
| |
Album Rating: 5.0
there's a change in perspective yeah, of course
|
| |
Album Rating: 5.0
actually that's not even necessarily true, but it's probably true more often than not
|
| |
it depends on the construction of the album. some albums rely more on context, some just try to be a compilation of singles, a bunch of individual experiences not tied to each other.
