They are both 5s for me. For Emma is special because the circumstances that surround it and BI is his best because as a composer/performer/producer he exceeded expectations, plus he managed to gather an incredible array of musicians and make a masterpiece which followed up another masterpiece.

Nicely said. If given the task to choose my favorite of the two, I'm honestly not sure what I'd say. My gut is telling me 'Bon Iver, Bon Iver' but my heart it saying 'For Emma'.
Either way it's a nice problem to have.

This finally clicked with me ... whoo. Funny how his latest albums gave me a new found appreciation for just how tasteful and not-at-all overbearing the additional instrumental touches and flourishes are here, which is the opposite to how I used to view them

He should have quit after this.

The same thing happened to me around the release of i,i Asleep. I’m glad for it too - this is a beautiful piece of work.

"He should have quit after this."
His last two albums are awesome. 666, 33 God, iMi, Sh'Diah, Naeem, etc. So many good tracks!

Actually think this might be his weakest album. Wash, Beth/Rest, and Perth are all awesome but I really don't care for the rest anymore.

I cannot tolerate this Beth/Rest hate. One of the best tracks here, behind Holocene and maybe Perth.

I agree that Beth is cheesy but that is why it is my favourite on here

Tbf guys, I’ve only listened to a few of this guy’s songs, but I plan on doing a discog run in the near future. Some of what I’ve heard I’ve liked, while some was too cheesy. The cheesy songs might click more once I’ve listened deeper/to the albums.

Best Bon Iver and my 11th favorite of the decade.

It's definitely top 10 of the decade for me. The more I listen to it, the more I get pissed about the follow ups to this.
