I'm too jaded about the t/t and "Iron Man" to agree with that... 4.5 works for me.

This was a lot easier to get into than Sabotage for me. That one took quite a while to grow

Sabotage does have it's rough spots, but once you get used to them, the album works awesomely as a whole imo.

you're right putting paranoid and iron man at the bottom, but not putting war pigs as one is probably a sin

"Hand of Doom" has one of the best Sabbath bass lines ever and it's pick up is legendary. So

I can't place it any other place than 1.

I love Iommi's guitar work, but Geezer's bass is my favorite part of the instrumentation of most

Sabbath songs.

You dont seem to care much for riffs since bass playing is your favorite thing in music, while metal is mostly about

the guitar riffing.

Basically when you listened to Sad Wings, you were looking for something it wasnt about

"You dont seem to care much for riffs since bass playing is your favorite thing in music, while

I love a good riff, but if riffs and vocals is all a rock band has that's stands out, I'll probably find

them boring. Which was one of my biggest issues with Sad Wings. I tried listening for a

good bassline and good drums, and they very rarely appeared...

Bass lines and interesting drums (by interesting I mean drums that standout rather than just

keep the beat) are often highlights in my opinion. I also often really appreciate when a rock

artist decides to use an instrument that's not typically "rock associated" such as the marimbas

in a lot of Zappa songs.

Don't get me wrong though, I certainly appreciate a good guitarist and absolutely love Iommi's

work, but if Geezer and Ward were just your typical musicians instead the extraordinary ones

that they actually are, I might not even be a Sabbath fan.
