It’s good. I wish they’d get back in and finish it because it has potential to be really fucking killer but as they are Briana, Diamond, Trempest, Destiny, and Candy are probably the only ones I’d go back to. Diamond is very fucking cool tho man, I really loved that one.



I just noticed a real lack of Frank. He’s for sure there on some tracks unless one of the guys was also fucking around with synths, but some polish and more input from Frank could really make these songs shine.

Unfortunately I agree. Like I said it’s got the bones of something great but it’s so obvious that they never thought these recordings would see the light of day, at least not in this state.



And really, it’s a lot closer to what I’d expect a second Team Sleep album to sound like over a shelved Deftones one, which is actually fucking awesome because I like that album more than most Deftones records



I wouldn’t use the word “disappointed” or anything, because if they truly don’t ever plan on officially releasing this then we’re honestly really lucky to be hearing any of this at all. I really, really hope they revisit it someday because to have essentially an entire record on the cutting room floor would be the disappointment. Like, the hard parts done… the songs are written. I don’t know anything about music production but it can’t be too much work to go in there and finish it right?

And if I’m being cynical, with how popular they are right now… well im sure they’d make a lot of money off it

yea i dont want to sound ungrateful or anything, i feel lucky to be in this timeline. that being said i was never really in the camp that was desperate for eros because the band has always consistently dropped great music. we've never been starved for new or quality material enough imo for me to ever really give eros much thought. after hearing it i still feel i could have lived without it and like i found all of the presents my parents hid a month before christmas. i think it's perfectly ok and understandable to feel naughty to have participated in this and stoked to finally have heard it. the band will get over it and as aforementioned should have had a plan in place for this kind of thing. but the human in me feelsbadman!

Holy shhhhhh I don’t give a FUCK man, I thought shit was incredible. Granted, this is only one listen (of many to come). And There could be two factors at play as far as bias goes though: 1) the hype of finally getting to hear it, something I’d been waiting on ever since Chi’s accident, but I’ve given up hope on years ago and 2) just reading about how some people thinking it was AI and some people saying how unfinished it felt somehow lowered my expectations as well.



Fucking love it. A few things…Trempest? Like Tempest? One of my favorite Deftones songs btw. Diamond? Like Diamond Eyes? Things that make you go harumph.



What’s up with the stripper names? lol. I assume they were just placeholder titles.



Destiny might be my favorite track (also my favorite stripper name).





Also, I forgot while I was listening that they recorded this after Saturday night wrist. Goddamn that was so long ago now. The first time I saw them live was on that tour. It’s just interesting how this feels in a way like more later era Deftones, really sounds nothing like Saturday night wrist or even diamond eyes.



Was chino sober when they recorded this? I know he was smoking meth recording his vocals during the Saturday night wrist recording sessions. And everyone recorded the part separately. I don’t really remember the story behind the recording on this one. All I know that Chi’s accident is what kind of woke them up. But that obviously came after the sessions.
