It’s a good ‘un amazing in fact but you’ll keep returning to Orchid

First impression is I really don't like the production/tones on here compared to the past 2 albums but the vocals have gotten a lot better.

I think i'll be returning to Morningrise more often than Orchid.

Morningrise is merely a demo schematic for My Arms, Your Hearse.



Imho, once you listen to the latter, you just can't go back to the former.

I'm one and a half listens in, Demon of the fall is an amazing tune, but overall I think this is the weakest of the 3 albums so far. V early tho I expect albums to really grow on me as I revisit them.

Yeah on most days, this is my fave Opeth. 100% fantastic.



And that tone is one of the things I love most about it! So organic and free yet very crunchy and aggressive for them. Moody autumn.

It might grow on me but it is a bit too different from the first 2 and going from listening to Morningrise to this without a break was a bit of a contrast in how it sounds.

Picked a good time to check them out with it being autumn >.>

And yeah this is quite different from the first two, but you'll see that happening more often from now on. Still Life again is quite different from this, and Blackwater Park is too. And Deliverance/Damnation. And Ghost Reveries... Watershed... Definitely Heritage. PC... The list goes on.
