But it isn't going to make those people shut up. That is the problem. He is actively instigating attention to his stuff by doing the stuff he does and it always results in people yammering on about a new album. Maybe I just have a shorter fuse, but I am already sick of the idea of a new release. I just want them to bite the bullet and release it already so people can finally stop talking about it. Same with Valve. Just confirm it already so people can stop talking about it.

"But it isn't going to make those people shut up. That is the problem."
yes, that's the "problem." but who's the actual source of the problem? the source of the problem itself? the guy dangling false bait, or the mindless masses relentlessly chomping at it?
maynard communicates this way a lot. people need to read between the lines to see what he's saying. is it pompous and/or dickish? sure, maybe. but is he right? fuck yes he's right.

I'd be really interested in a new Tool album. but knowing maynard, I'm not putting any stock in new material existing until it's released, and that's fine with me.

It is more the fault of the masses who can't get it through their skulls that 7 full years without confirmation of any studio time whatsoever is not a good sign. However, he is not blameless and now that I think of it, neither are his bandmates.
I just want this unwarranted buzz to die already so people can just move on to something else.

Apparently the band is full at work at new material atm though, according to the latest post on Toolband.com. Not sure if its
legit to believe anything that Blaire posts on there though

"but the pretend to be something other than what they are a lot less than he does."
I'm going to assume you meant they DON'T pretend to be something else
They said at one point that they invented Dubstep

"When I'm asked what do I think of a lot of the nu-metal bands that are out there, my response is that
it seems really insincere to me. I've had a really shitty childhood and I'm really upset and I'm
really ugly and I've put a lot of make-up on and I'm harder and faster and my voice sounds more like
the cookie monster's than yours does. To me it all comes across as being comical, as being a parody of
itself." -Trent Reznor
Pretty much.

That's def true. But just for the heck of it I jammed a bit of the first Korn album a month ago for the first time in a decade. It didn't make wanna jam it more but it's pretty good for what it is, honestly
|
| |
Btw, jammed this for the first time yesterday. I think I might like it more than Lateralus
