Yeah see boney you listed the only songs really worth listening to. The rest aren't bad per se but wth is good about them? I'm glad radiohead left their lax alt rock days behind them and started experimenting more

I think if you absolutely love the more experimental side of the band this might seem disappointing to you. While I do really enjoy their post OKC stuff, this and OKC will always be my favourites.

I feel like how much one likes this depends largely on how much one likes OKC - it seems like those who rate that one very high tend to have this high as well, but those who prefer post-OKC albums don't really feel this one.
Sure this album isn't as unique as albums like Kid A, Amnesiac or TKoL but the execution here is virtually unparalled imo.

Like, ok has some pretty boring songs too. The tourist, electioneering, exit music, etc are all monotonous af. I'm glad they branched out sonically to create masterpieces like kid a, in rainbows, King of limbs.
Where is potsy when I need him. Can he still be summoned with just a mention of his name?

Do people hate Yorke's singing? I mean 'Grace' could be labelled alt rock but everyone loves that because it's heralded as a vocal showpiece.
Because this isn't called Thom Yorke Sings The Bends no one seems to give a ferk. Thom is one of the greatest rock (or indie or pop or whatever) singers and his singing is stunning on this. Poor geezer can't really hack it now and the fact the vocals are no longer front and centre has helped the band's longevity but his performance here is perfect.

OK Computer is the linchpin for every experimental band post-1997
it started opening the floodgates
Kid A blew the gates open

How to disappear is pretty w.e IMO but much better than most of what's on here. Same goes for optimistic. I think what separates radiohead from the thousands of alt rock bands out there are songs like idioteque and reckoner and climbing up the walls and so on.

Tunaboy knows whats up.
Being realistic, there's no way Kid A would have existed without OK Computer, and no way OK Computer could have come without The Bends.

Again one of Yorke's outstanding vocal performances : (
My second favourite Radiohead song
The Thommy Knocker is probably 70% why I love Radiohead so probably explains our difference of opinion

You've got it right Doof, Radiohead would be nothing without Thom Yorke's voice in the center of it all.
|

I can understand why people love it so much doof. It's an achingly beautiful song, I just think it sort of drags after a few mins.
