It is cute how much effort you put into that though, thanks.

Nevermind really wasn't that impressive of an album. It was very simplified to the point that it lead to a rise of copycat bands following the simple chord progressions and lyrics. In Utero was much more mature in almost every aspect.

@Jacquibim I'll make sure not to get on your bad side. If I do I'd prefer to go out like Dead and have my corpse on your next band's live album.

With the powers bestowed upon me by Mikael I will make a band called Pope Francis, and it will sound just like opeth pre-heritage

Props for the username, though.

I just raised all my Opeth albums, my fanboy got the best of me. Heritage I still cannot raise any higher than 3.5. It is good, just not great compared to the rest of Opeth's stuff. Its like Ghost B.C., nice for the throwback but can't have to much of it.

Surprisingly didn't lose any objectivity according to Sputnik (95% seems ridiculously high, considering its almost all extreme metal getting high rankings).

3.5 is still "Great" in this ranking system. I just feel it has some good tracks (Devil's Orchard, Slither, I Feel the Dark), but just can't listen to the whole thing through more than like once a month.

I have to admit that live it has a new level of intensity that if it was recorded with the same style, it would be higher in my book.

I wouldn't say shitty, but it is a tad boring at times. Which is why I said that the live versions give it more intensity and life. Damnation was light, but had a little more life in it than Heritage.

If it is like Carbon-Based Anomaly, I'm not looking forward to it. That Ep was good, but not a lot of staying power like their earlier works.

Disagree, I find Damnation kinda boring at times whereas Heritage is consistently interesting.

I guess it is a matter of taste on the atmosphere. I listen to a lot of doom metal, so I guess Damnation's atmosphere would appeal to me more. It terms of song structure, I agree Heritage is more consistently interesting.

They are close in my book Damnation > Heritage only by a small margin.
