"Title track has a perfect length."

Yeah, man, you're right. But I dare to say even more. All the things on this album are simply perfect.

the only sensible reason to cut t/t down would be for a radio edit

but then again Opeth playing on the radio would just be weird

Album is a bit too polished for its own good but it is consistent as fuck.

I think the production is awesome minus the snare.

Like it's good, clean production but it's not atmospheric production. Morningrise and MAYH are otherworldly. This is a bit more sterile.

I like the production here more. It is indeed clean, but there's also something unsettling about it that I love.

MAYH is has the best production in an Opeth record. Also agreed with the fact of this being near perfect, still this is like 4th Opeth album for me.

Agreed with Evo here, just in my opinion the better songwriting brings it out to the fullest. Like that opening riff of Drapery Falls with that guitar tone...beautiful.

Every album between Still Life and Heritage has sterile production in my view, but I can't imagine them with MAYH's production. I don't particularly like the polished production, but it doesn't keep me from enjoying those albums; rather, I just enjoy them for what they are.

So you'd say Deliverance has a sterile production?

Watershed is the only album that I really find sterile. The others are clean but still natural imo.

production is perfect here, it needs to be "polished" so you can hear all the details and sounds in this beast. it doesn't sound sterile, its clarity helps in creating this cold atmosphere, and it has a great dynamic range... I'm sorry, but there's nothing wrong with the production here

Yeah, I wouldn't argue with that.
