When it comes to sheer heavyness, i think Mortician, Brutal Truth and the likes are heavy as it gets, but yeah, this still pretty damn heavy nonetheless

Converge create a masterpiece with their album Jane Doe, which is an album that people who embrace it, will not forget it.

Converge expands its musical efforts with an LP that, though being part protest music, is first and foremost simply excellent.

It's been labeld as "Classic," "Legendary," "Untouchable." It even managed to work it's way to the top of Sputnik's "Top Albums of the Decade" It ranked above such megatons as Tool's "Lateralus" (my favorite album of all time, and the album which spurred the growth and maturation of my musical tastes) and Radiohead's "Kid A" (which I don't care for personally but respect nonetheless).

This album attracts a special kind of “music nerd” that read how this received (some) backlash when it first came out on the Wikipedia page, so they have to larp like it’s still 2001 and they’re the only one that “gets it” anytime they see someone not automatically call it a classic as if the album hasn’t made “hall of fame” lists and become the bands most popular record in the years since.

what? That’s not true at all. Maybe I’m just misunderstanding what you’re trying to say.
Converge, especially earlier converge, is totally a band that you either “get it” or don’t. It took me a while to get past the vocals but now Jane Doe is probably my favorite record ever.
I’d never clown on somebody for not liking it. Hell, my brother has a YFM tattoo and doesn’t really care for Jane Doe.
