Out of interest, what‘s the longest thread on this side and how many pages does it have? This is surely a contender.

It’s not that tunings are relatable, it’s that shit tunings are anti-relatable, mostly

This thread is fine, better than other ones I’ve seen today lol

Not anti relatable per se, you can tune low and still have some sense of humanity to your music. Just hard to do, and all those cringe "what if linkin park tuned down" type videos can certainly soil the humanity in some tracks.

Also, I'm not Snide, I'm not going to leave for good lmao.

Architects, Volumes, Fit for a King (at least some of the time) and Silent Planet come to mind as bands that tune low and still sound like they're putting some work into the compositions. They're diamonds in the rough, however. It's just a trend I wish wasn't so prevalent, or at least that the bands involved would try a little harder.

Nah, you just have to work harder to retain such elements the lower you go.

But I do wish newer bands took more advice from their predecessors instead of badly imitating Meshuggah with half the talent.

only tunings i really dislike are ones that try too hard to be trippy, or are just straight up not in tune at all like some lo-fi punk groups

It's a lot easier to write engaging stuff when you're not trying way too hard to tune lower than everyone else like it's a dick measuring contest.

Shit Sylosis makes do in E Standard but somehow Wage War needs to be in Drop G.
