Listened to it last night. Was a hell of a ride.

Toyed with the idea of steering clear of it, but this was probably one of the rare times where this thing would be available without going to significant effort to track it down again.

Honestly, now that the cats out the bag, they really should mix/master and release it. It's been nearly 20 years since this was recorded and another leak is bound to happen anyway seeing as these have apparently been circulating in forums/etc for months.

Shame that the person who leaked is apparently a massive POS, though.

After this leak, absolutely not. Opinions will already be formed about it regardless of the intended quality. I legit sympathize with the band when it comes to stuff like this. They seemed to really hold Eros dear to them, either as a piece of art exclusive to just the group members or as remembrance to Chi.

I kept seeing comments on YT before it was taken down that it wasn't the "real thing" and that it was a combination of B-sides, demos and some real Eros songs that made the cut. Anyone wise enough to confirm its authenticity?

Yeah 'Melanie' in particular really reminds me of some of the stuff that ended up being part of Private Music, it has a similar energy to 'Locked Club'.

The heavier songs definitely need some work (guitars are mixed too far in the background on these demos, and it needs more oomph overall).



With that said, most songs feel complete for the most part, from a songwriting perspective. At the very minimun Eros needs the 2006 Leaked Demos treatment from Brand New. Just remaster/remix whats already been recorded and be done with it.
