Hell yeah, love to see the New Bermuda love. Moshing in Minneapolis to "Brought To The Water" will be something I never forget, so much fun

This beats TFS

Just heard a few tracks off of it but sounded to me like a tame slower version of Daughers with Nick Cave esque vocals

I thought Tropical Fuck Storm was some EDM group and it was being brought up as a joke. Anyway I put on Fairyland Codex this morning and it’s pretty good so far. I guess I was thinking StarFuckr

and for anyone listening to TFS for the fist time… Fairyland Codex is probably my favorite record of theirs at this point but Laughing Death in Meatspace does feel a little more accessible and is for sure a better entry point. You Let My Tyres Down is honestly a pretty good indicator on whether or not you fuck with the band

Saw them live over the summer and god they fucking killed it, hope they come to the states again soon and play more off the new record

if you thought they sounded anything like Daughters then yeah, probably deserves a re-run for greater clarity. Deep States is my fave, but agreed that A Laughing Death is a sweet entry point

(I'll begrudgingly allow the Nick Cave bit for the 'idiosyncratic Aussie' vox and Cave's origins with TBP, lol)

First Deafheaven album I managed to understand, both Sunbather and New Bermuda still sound like 'atmosphere with no melodies' to me, here there actually are some. Opting for the first half which is way darker.

Just realised you can read the album title as sardonically political or defiantly personal. Only saw it as the first for a while
