"deliberate and unintended are mutually exclusive"
Deliberate: "Bounce! Pogo-pogo-pogo... x infinity"
Unintended: A highly left-wing group with a right-wing drummer that is so internally volatile that they can't function as a band.

ah yes, they can't function as a band because of the drummer. Lmao

^ The notion of band dynamics/arguments/internal strife impeding musical output causes you to l[y]ao. Okay, fine.

I'm not laughing about that, I just think it's funny that you think the drummer is the main problem when it's obviously Serj

^ Yeah, probably is. The two front dudes have massive egos (Daron in particular, comes across annoying af), but when asked why the band was "silly" as page back, their confused public political ideas (from a very political band) always comes to mind. They just seem very internally fractious.

I'm not as butt-hurt as most people about them not making a comeback. Mezmerize and Hypnotize weren't that great, the band was running on fumes already in like 2004

Neither am I. It doesn't bother me in the slightest if they never reform.. It was good for what it was at the time, I reckon.

Mez had some really good songs. Hyp had a few as well. Overall nowhere near as good as this or S/T

I still don’t get in what universe s/t or any of their albums for that matter are nu metal

its ok, you are allowed to like nu metal.

nu-metal is funky because it was more a time-period than a normal subgenre. This is why bands like Deftones, SOAD, and Slipknot can be lumped under the same tag. It's kind of dumb, but you just had to be there.

Yeah still don’t make it correct. Not that it matters. Just genre bs. But mudvayne, papa roach, linkin park, nothingface, drowning pool at least fit the mold. Bands you mentioned are more experimental than anything but since they came out in early 2000s and we’re on the same radio stations they’re all the same genre apparently lol

Although the vocals were very unorthadox, a lot of SOAD riffs absolutely fit the nu-metal mold
