Like everyone is saying, yeah this tour is absolutely amazing. One of the best shows I've seen. Set list was perfect imo, loved the encore of Demiurge and FBM. Light show was very impressive, to see everything lining up perfectly with the riffs was a sight to behold. Happy to see this band doing so well!

Demiurge is my personal favorite of theirs. They opened with it in 2013 when I saw em which was kinda weird lol. Song is definitely a closer.

This band has just never been able to click for me the same way as it does for everything else. I always appreciate the talent involved more than enjoy the actual music. Whenever I listen to an album of theirs, any album, I just get bored.

Their live tone was identical to the tone from the album recording, don't know how the hell these dudes pull it off

“I mean Phil Anselmo ripped his throat in half and he can barely sing cemetery gates now for not learning how to sing with a vocal coach. Don't do what most untrained death metal singers do kids.”
Do you seriously think Jens has been screaming his lungs out for 3 decades and not had vocal coaching along the way? How do you think he’s been able to do it for so long?

Jens vocals are god tier but post-blue nothing the vocal tone is heavily modified, which is what people associate with him now. They tried dialing the vocal effects back in violent sleep but imo it sounded a bit too raw (Darkthrone Quintessence vibes) but on this they went back to the modified vocal tone which does sound better all things considered, especially given his age. Also Jens screams have always been super vicious and sounded like his larynx is about to jump out of his throat (sum catch 33 anyone?) so you can’t blame them for bumping it up a bit. Shug are a heavily produced band these days but it’s fine because it sounds like planets crashing into one another

Meshuggah is top 5 band of all time for me but this is pretty mid tbh. Broken cog, phantoms, ligature Mark's and kalidascope are all good tracks.... that's about it. I could take or leave the entirety of the rest of the tracks here.

ain’t gotta love em but you can like em enough to keep em around. The weaker songs won me over when they performed them live, and you left out The Faultless and God Writes Long Song Titles how dare u
