How was the festival? I nearly went, as Hatfield isn't too far from me, but couldn't really shell out the money this time. Who did you see? Also happy birthday.

Really? Hatfield was a whole 30min drive from me. Festival was cool to hang out with mates at. A bit kiddie orientated and honestly we got a bit tired of the same 'sound' of bands after a while (21st century pop punk kinda sound) but there were some great highlights for sure.
I burnt to all hell though! and thanks man - feeling old rn

Well, I've got 4 and a half years on you so don't feel too old.
Ah, you're closer than me now then. I recently moved to Cambridge which apparently is an hour's drive from Hatfield, but at the time I was thinking of buying the tickets I also lived just 30 minutes away. Pretty exciting to have JEW headlining a festival just down the road.
If I'd gone I'd have either gone by myself, or bought my girlfriend a ticket so she could keep me company, which would have cost me £100+. A lot of money, considering Thursday pulled out and Goldfinger were clashing with Taking Back Sunday. So I figured I'd just wait until JEW's next tour. I've seen them enough times that I don't mind waiting, I guess.
I do love that 21st century pop punk sound for the nostalgia, but to be honest there weren't actually a lot of bands on the billing that I was ever really into, so it would have just been a really expensive JEW show.
Glad you enjoyed it though, there is a small part of me that wishes I'd gone.

I really need to see these guys live but I might not have a chance for a while. They started this tour in my area but I didn't really know until it was too late. So I looked up the setlist out of curiosity and wouldn't you know they played shit like Goodbye Sky Harbor and Polaris. Fuck I'm an idiot

I actually went back to my parents house in Hertfordshire for the weekend - live in Bristol these days! And yeah man i totally get what you mean - can't say i was blown away by many of the bands, was more just an excuse to hang out with mates - wouldn't have gone if there were only like two of us!

Also i had never seen Jimmy before (i know right) so it was an important one for me! Though the crowd was kind of small and most people went to Good Charlotte or went home early because Great Northern absolutely suck and they would be stranded otherwise ha

Kill is decent enough but has just never clicked with me the same way almost all of their slow, ballad-type songs do. I've tried to love it as much as everyone else seems to but I think almost everything on the second half of this album blows it away

Kill still reminds me of the girl about whom my review/ diary entry from high school was written. lol,in fairness the lyrics are pretty honest and evocative. I definitely think it's one of the band's better songs in general.
And yeah 23 is still the jam.
